We are convinced that good solutions can be achieved if they are based on good concepts, if they create value for the organisation and if they are used and accepted by the whole organisation.

Experience learns us that implementing a tool without the adequate approach will not offer the expected results. On the other hand, an approach exclusively based on theoretical concepts will not be successful: the improvement is not anchored in the organisation and its results will be diluted after a while.

We work together with partners with a large know-how in inventory management and forecasting. They help you on these activities: from the analysis to the implementation of the appropriate solutions. Processes, organisation, information systems and infrastructure are all part of the methodology.

All along the project, the following steps are followed to implement the Optimact tool:

  • Explore : the actual situation is analysed and an action plan is set up
  • Define : inventory strategy is formalised, inventory models are set up
  • Organise : the processes are set up and the organisation is activated
  • Follow up : the performance is followed up and actions are taken to improve the processes

Optimact is used to calculate optimised inventory parameters which are needed to run our material requirement planning (MRP). These parameters are actually updated on a regular base.
Vanden Bergh collaborates with Xeleos Consulting to replace their old inventory management tool by Optimact. Optimact is more appropriate to optimise processes and inventory management.
With Optimact we reduced our inventory level with more than 30% and increased our service level from 93 to 96%. Today we are using Optimact to manage the inventories and cycle counting at all our subsidiaries.
Intersig changed from a pure make to order environment to a more long term production planning which allows a beter planning of capacities and inventories. This strategic change is leading to a decrease of inventory levels, working capital, higher service levels and an organisational stability.
The import of our Chinese products is fully managed with Optimact. The optimisation tool within Optimact guarantees us optimized containerloads with replenishment orders based on real demands.
By using Optimact we reduced our inventory by 25% and at the same time increased our service level. The achieved results permitted us to get rid of an external warehouse. Optimact helps us also to keep an up to date inventory strategy and continuously adapt the inventory parameters.
Optimact permitted us to reduce our inventories in the nursing departments by 25% without any stockout. Optimact is used to calculate regularly the optimal inventory parameters needed to feed the MRP.
Thanks to Optimact, we are reviewing the inventory strategy of our 30.000 items that we follow and our inventories are aligned with our customer demands.
